Soooo....the first.
I guess I should start at the beginning. I'm sick of high school, can't wait to go to the college I haven't chosen yet- what's new?
If anyone even reads this and is wondering, AntarcticPhantom = The Phantom of the Opera + Antarctica. And no, this is not Phantom III. I just like the Phantom of the Opera and have an avid interest in Antarctica. And now, I'm just rambling. But, I'm a nerd...I like Star Wars and cartoons, and other nerdy-kiddie stuff....so that's probably where quite a lot of the blog-line is going to come from.
But seriously, first topic...
Not everything is going to be about Phantom of the Opera, but, seriously, I have to address this because I just got a FB reminder from a friend about it:
Phantom of the Opera II, "Love Never Dies". WHAT?! How did this even come to be a thought in someone's head? Newsflash to Lloyd Weber and the others, I love you, but how for the love of Erik can you even make a Phantom II? That was the touching part of the original Phantom- Erik gives up Christine because he loves her enough to see her be happy. Now he turns into some psycho stalker (as if he wasn't enough in the first one) and follows Christine and Raoul to New York (WTF?), where they visit Coney Island or something. Really? Here's the biggest catch
*(BOOK SPOILER ALERT)*
Erik, the Phantom of the Opera, DIES at the end of the book.
Like, dies. Like, can't come back to life. Like, can't follow Christine and Raoul to Coney Island or whatever....because he's dead. He lets her go and dies happy because someone finally showed him love. Sappy, I know, but really touching in a way only musicals can deliver.
What are they going to do? Music of the Night II with a caliope (or whatever) playing the song and some deformed, dead, Phantom Zombie in a ringleader's outfit trying to touch Christine? This is like a horror movie, not a love (which shouldn't even be in existance because the love triangle is missing it's deformed-yet-still-somehow-attractive-point) story.
Moral of the story: Phantom II, WHY?!? In case you want to feast your eyes out on the glory of the sequel, see here:

(PS: the Phantom addresses his letters as O.G. Just because he's dead and has a huge base of fangirls doesn't mean that he suddenly is like, "I want to be more sexy, so I'm going to sign "The Phantom" on my notes. Which don't exist. Because I'm dead.")
